When your head loses it's grip and fumbles
And your feet are made slow by life's troubles
Smile, not for a while
But till all of it is past.
When all life offers you is a try
And the air you breathe is cold and dry
Don't be too quick to despair
Try a smile and try will be repaired.
When you look to your head and all of it is blank
Your senses lost; emptiness your bank
Look to your pen, smile a while
And fresh ideas shall fill your files.
When you covet a precious treasure
And it plays you around like a little football
Be calm, rest a while, smile
And the treasure will be at your dial.
When she rants yet a long while
Don't pant, just smile
Smile and she'll be cold with your love
Smile and she'll be calm like a dove.
When you're old and filled with grey
Do not let bitterness be your prey
Smile yesterday, tomorrow and today
For in it, you'll find strength for each passing day.
When you lose a treasure you held dear
Sorrow, but do not live in tears
Do not let the pain last forever
Smile now, or you may never.
Smile, not for a cause;
But as a course.
Not as a show to be seen;
But as a culture to be lived.
Smile today, while you may
While it's day; and your teeth remain.
Life is too short they say,
So, smile and live all the way!
